This is LeRoy Bell.
He is 60.

Now do you see what the fuss is about?  Sweet Jesus.

My body is ready, Grampa.  Come show me how they did it before the Civil Rights Movement…

POP POP could so get it.

Sixty?!? In what? Dog years?!? What in the Benjamin Button…

The saying is “Good black don’t crack”, not “Good black completely defies the laws of time and gravity.”

I need to sit down.

On his face.

Oh yes, this .gif is MOST appropriate.

Wait. THIS MAN IS 60???? Did he sell his soul to the devil??? He looks 30!

This man is 60 years old. SIXTY YEARS OLD. He’s older than the President. He’s older than Lil Mama.

I’m sorry. If this was one of y’alls daddy/granddad you’d just have to deal with the collection of draws on your front lawn.

Listen, this man, is so sexy and very talented. I would gladly date him and eventually give him my panties. then marry him….

if this Negro is 60, then my fat ass is an anorexic bulimic and a coffee enema addict

Wow.  That is way I want MY 60s to look like.  My goodness!

thehuskybro asked: I want to comment! I want to comment, how come I can't comment?

That is a good question…I thought it was set to allow comments.  Somehow, I think the comment feature is a general problem with the program.  You can “like” an entry but can’t comment on it.

Well, what’s on my mind?

Jumble

Let’s just say, of late, my brain is a jumble.  The words are there along with the thoughts..just not in any discernible order.  So here are my random thoughts for the week:

Whats up in Pop Culture?

Twitter Whale

Twitter kinda lost a bit of its glow in the last few weeks as a few celebrities decided to quitting using the service.  Its funny that the media used more than 140 characters to talk about their quitting AND it made national news at the same time.

Applebee's

Can anyone explain why Applebee’s is considered funny as part of pop culture?  I don’t get the continued reference to a tired chain restaurant in movies and television shows.  Maybe I have watched too many Vince Vaughn/Will Ferrell movies lately.  Just a thought but its still not funny.

Gangsters are back…Prohibition Style.

Boardwalk Empire debuted tonight on HBO.  It features Steve Buscemi as Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson, the king of sorts of Atlantic City.  The setting in the 1920s goes back to a time when Prohibition was starting and gangsters were starting to come to the attention of the federal government.  I found the pilot interesting because it costs somewhere around a reported $18 mil to film.  The plot was intricate enough that it really truly requires multiple viewings just to get all the fine details down.  But, was I truly blown away from a story that we already know the ending to as a series?  Hard to call at this point.  I wasn’t bored to tears just yet, so I look forward to watching again next week just to see if I like it or not.   I never really bought into the Sopranos as ‘must see’ so I am willing to give this a try.

I guess it will do while I wait for Treme to return.

Dexter

Dexter starts in just a few days.  How will he react (or show a LACK of reaction) to the fact that his wife died in spectacular fashion?  Will he continue his compulsive need to kill knowing he has his own child at home alone now?  I will be tuning in to watch.

Now that all the summer series have ended, what are you must see shows for this Fall?

PatBlogahan.com: Train-ing wheels?

This is a great idea.  I would run with the team at a preplanned event.  There are lots of 5K to marathons that are scheduled 6 to 12 months in advance.  Would be neat to meet and run for a cause then go to a Train concert that evening or afternoon.

patmonahan:

Ok I have an idea but I need you guys to love it and or help me figure it out. I want to create an event that I will love, you will have fun AND we can do something good for fellow humans, mostly children.
So, my idea is that, being a runner, I should host 10K’s all over the planet to raise…

So Whats New?

I have been busy with my personal offline projects to be able to say anything of substance.  However, some really good concerts are about to go do as this summer wraps up.  I am already planning to catch Eric Benet, Lizz Wright and Incognito in October alone.

Which makes me think, what is the big project in your life right now?

For me its Project Hair.  I have decided to make a conscientious effort to get some growth out of my hair.  I’ve always dreamed of having hair of certain length.  I could get my hair there in the past until I decided to cut it or do something destructive.  So now, I am doing all kinds of stuff to get growth, some interesting others not so much.  I can’t decide whether to be inspirational or just say here are my results, so I may post a pic or five.  Who knows?  If you like hair stories and pics, I’m over on the LHCF board.  Stop in and say hi.
